Southwest Washington’s labor community is celebrating May Day with a Solidarity Scavenger Hunt — a creative way to explore local labor history while getting ready for International Workers’ Day.
Organized by a coalition of unions representing educators, health care, and state workers — in partnership with the Clark County Historical Museum — the scavenger hunt runs through April 30. Participants complete activities online or via QR code while learning about the region’s rich labor history.
The hunt wraps up with a May 1 celebration and raffle at the Clark County Historical Museum in Vancouver, WA, starting at 7 p.m.
While this event is specific to Southwest Washington, the idea could easily be adapted by unions and labor councils in other regions to highlight local labor history and build community engagement ahead of events like May Day or Labor Day.
