Dr. Lisa Fine of the Michigan State University History Department will do a presentation on her new book, Downriver Detroit: The Working Class, the Environment, and the Bonds of Place (University of Illinois Press, 2026) on August 15, 3 PM, at the R E Olds Transportation Museum, 240 Museum Drive, in Lansing.
This will be an outstanding talk by one of the finest labor historians in the nation. Dr. Fine's most recent book of related interest is The Story of REO Joe: Work, Kin and Community in Autotown, USA (Temple University Press, 2004). The presentation is free with regular paid admission to the museum.
