Sing The Power of Good Trouble!

About this event

On Thursday, July 17,Good Trouble LIves On invites ALL of us to be part of some local action honoring the great Civil Rights leader and late Congressperson John Lewis.

Rather than a nationwide collective protest such as the recentNo Kingsrallies and marches,Good Trouble Daywill be more grassroots and multi faceted in who and how actions happen.

Find out more-- YOU TOO can create something in your home town, neighborhood, family.

AND you can join me and a stellar roster of singers/song leaders, to stir up some trouble online with our voices and energies.
To access the zoom link and join the musical troublemaking,

I've invited some of my favorite social justice/poetic/open-hearted singer songwriter friends to come lead us in songs of making Good Trouble in the midst of the destruction of any semblance of government by and for ALL the people.

Besides the amazing artists listed in the headline,we'll be treated with a great video ofLea Morrisand other vocal powerhouses singing the wonderful song/chantMake Good Trouble, byElizabeth Melvin,who isn't able to join in person.

Please share this info widely!
Social Media,friendship circles, mailing lists. What a great opportunity to sing together, renew strength and courage, and be inspired to make
MORE GOOD TROUBLE.

Stay Strong, Stay Calm, and Carry On!
HERE ARE JUST A FEW EXAMPLES FROM THE GROWING INTERNATIONAL UPRISING OF GOOD TROUBLE
•"Ordinary people" surrounding and resisting ICE as they attempt to arrest immigrants at courthouses and at their places of work;

The people of Kenya protesting governmental corruption and violence throughCOMPLETE absence from public life--empty streets, workers staying home, no sign of human activity except government tanks and soldiers;

The UN Special Rapporteurusing her power to research, publicly report, and call to accountability 100's of businesses (largely US based) profiting from Israel's genocidal demolition of Gaza, in violation of national and international law.
