Registrants will be directed to watch Land and Freedom and an expert introductory video before the 75-minute discussion session on Zoom.

ALBA will direct participants to the streaming services that have the film. Any fees associated with accessing the film must be borne by the registrant.

Lisa Berger has lived in Barcelona, Spain for over 35 years where she has researched, written, directed, and produced documentaries on social and historical topics. Born and raised in New York, Lisa holds a Masters in Media Studies from the New School in New York and a BA with a concentration in Women’s Studies from Hampshire College.

As an Archival Producer, she handled the international audiovisual research on contemporary documentary series and feature films such as The Heroic Minute; I Also Left Opus Dei, which will be released on Max in 2025, and Murder by the Coast; The Wanninkhof-Carabantes Case on Netflix. She was the Archive Producer on several series, including, Spain After the War, the Franco Dictatorship in Color for Discovery Channel, and España, el Siglo XX en Color series for Televisión Española in 2022.

Lisa produced and co-directed ...All Our Lives, on women in the anarchist movement during the Spanish Civil War broadcast on TVE and WNET-NY, 1986.

On Land and Freedom, directed by Ken Loach, she was the Crowd Coordinator and archival researcher. Lisa was the International News Producer at Canal+ TV, during the launch of the network in Madrid in 1989, and later a producer of their children’s programming in Barcelona.
