Spotlight on Solidarity: Three Labor Arts Projects to Support

Harold Phillips | Published on 9/24/2026

Three LHF friends and partners are creating spaces where art, organizing and working-class stories can thrive.

Theater Alliance, which includes a labor-themed production in every season, opens Washington, DC’s new Revada Arts Center on October 23. Created with IN Series and 4EYE Film Center, the multidisciplinary hub includes performance, film, rehearsal, production and community spaces. Celebrate at the multi-day opening festival.

Bread & Roses Missouri
brings its 2026 Workers’ Opera, Stand Up and Let ’Em Know, to St. Louis October 9–11. Twelve workers-turned-actors use music, storytelling, poetry and humor to explore economic anxiety, workplace struggles and collective action. Sliding-scale tickets are available here. (Tune in for our interview with Workers Opera actors on next week’s Labor Heritage Power Hour, 1p Thursday on WPFW!)

Working Films
is raising $5,000 to launch its Block, Build and Reimagine screening tour. The organization plans to bring two films about grassroots organizing—Theory of Change and Any Way You Can—to at least 50 communities, free to audiences and local organizers.

Attend, donate or spread the word—and help these organizations keep labor and movement culture alive.
