On September 14th Casa Bonita entertainers gathered with community supporters in Denver to demand a fair union contract after more than a year of negotiations. Staff at the restaurant—who work as cliff divers, magicians, puppeteers and actors—unanimously voted to join Actors’ Equity Association in November 2024. But so far, workers have been negotiating against middle managers with little power to bargain around critical issues like wages and benefits, paid time off and scheduling.
Workers are asking allies to contact other managers at Casa Bonita and their parent company, Park County, and urge them to settle a fair contract.
