Staff at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich have voted to take strike action over pay and working conditions on the day of next week’s eclipse.
Members of the Prospect Union overwhelmingly voted to strike on August 11 and August 12 at four of the Royal Museums Greenwich locations in London.

Affected sites include the Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark and Queen’s House, with the strike coinciding with the best solar eclipse visible from the UK in almost 27 years.
