Dedicated in 2021, Akron's Rubber Worker statue honors the generations of workers who made the city the "Rubber Capital of the World."
The 12-foot bronze sculpture, created by Ohio artist Alan Cottrill, is based on a century-old photograph of a tire plant worker wrapping a freshly made truck tire in paper to prevent it from sticking.
