“Gonna Take Us All” Ball Blends Organizing, Song, and Solidarity at McGinty’s

The Labor Heritage Foundation’s annual “Gonna Take Us All” Ball brought a rapt
crowd to McGinty’s Friday night in Silver Spring for an evening that blended organizing, music, and celebration. Jamie Iwugo of the TPSS Community Safety Network delivered an inspiring report on anti-ICE organizing and concrete ways to get involved locally. The evening also honored recently retired LHF staffer Hetty Scofield, the DC Labor Chorus led powerful songs of solidarity, and the dance floor stayed full until the bar closed, capping a night that underscored the enduring connection between culture, movement-building, and collective joy.
