Still Essential: “Pride and a Paycheck”

I was just telling the father of a young woman Carpenters' Union apprentice about
the "must read" list of poetry and memoirs that tell the story of the some of the past and current heroines of construction. Before there was Susan Eisenberg or Hilary Peach (to name two of the most gifted writers about being women in construction or anything else), there was Sue Doro - steady and true, talented and big-hearted. One of her babies is the newsletter, "Pride and a Paycheck", still going strong and still really mattering.
