Echoes of Emancipation: Labor Leaders Speak and Sing Out

DC Metro Council President Sam Epps, DC CLUW President Chelsea Bland, and DC Labor Chorus Director Elise Bryant were among those who took part in the DC Emancipation Day Speak Out Wednesday at Metropolitan AME Church. Epps spoke passionately about the importance of standing up to power and the urgent need for solidarity. He then invited Bryant to join him in leading the crowd in a rousing rendition of “Solidarity Forever.”
